1. There is no need to waste time counting calories.

Crazy. It's like driving your car without a gas gauge. If you don't know how much your putting in you will never know if your input is exceeding your output. And if it does then the weight will continue to pack on. Being aware of caloric intake is really very simple and easy to do.

2. Breakfast should be your biggest meal of the day.

The truth is no meal of the day should be your biggest meal. Breakfast is very important and gets your metabolic engine running, but it doesn't take a huge amount of food to do that. A sensible bowl of hot cereal or toast will work just fine especially if your eating several small meals a day as you should.

3. Never snack between meals.

As I just mentioned above eating several small meals a day is highly recommended for keeping the metabolism and weight loss going all day. But who has time to prepare and eat that many meals. A well chosen snack can easily replace or fill in for one. Look for granola bars or carry a bag of healthy Chex mix.

4. Never eat four hours before bedtime.

Look your body doesn't stop at night. Truth is you burn calories while sleeping. A couple hundred calorie snack before bed will actually rev your metabolic system for that extra calorie burn while your asleep.

5. Never treat yourself while dieting.

Hey while I was losing weight I had one night a week that was my treat to me night. Now I didn't go out and hit the 'all you can eat' pizza buffet but allowed myself those foods that I enjoy eating. A bowl of chocolate lovers ice cream or a cheeseburger! Truth is by following a simple laid out plan and not believing every myth out there you will be able to lose weight and feel great about yourself!
