Insulin can allow the breakdown of glycogen back to glucose if glucose is low in the blood. Insulin therefore is a very important chemical in the body. This chemical is produced by the pancreas (an organ in the body). Diets to lose weight takes into consideration food stuff that reduces the stimulation of insulin.

When you have excess fat in the body, the pancreas works very hard to regulate the different energy molecules in the body using the insulin. You can develop problems with the pancreas and insulin may not be produced anymore. This leads to the diabetic condition. We all know this can be fatal. To develop diets to lose weight, food with high protein and less carbohydrate is more preferred as it gives easier tasks to insulin to regulate the use of energy in the body.
